Mr. Modi actually has no other option but to rise above the fundamentalist rabble or he will very soon lose all the political capital he has acquired over the last one year. The Delhi elections, I feel, will mark a vital watershed in the political future of India. The BJP appears to have learnt no lessons so far-it is proceeding in its same aggressive, Modi-centric manner relying on the brand and not the content. Kejriwal, on the other hand, appears to have learnt at least some of the lessons-he is less strident, moved beyond the earlier uni-polar plank of corruption to more substantive issues, and eschewed his premature national ambitions. I can feel a renewed upsurge of support for him in Delhi. But the opposition to him is formidable( the media has almost totally turned against him) and he obviously cannot match the BJP in terms of money, cadres or govt. manipulations. Let us wait and see. If the BJP wins Delhi then the die is cast and Islamic fundamentalism would have arrived in India too as a reaction to the "Hindu " version.Avay Shuklahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02928879917197239026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8561209253464577539.post-55157795373389269992015-01-09T09:01:00.585+05:302015-01-09T09:01:00.585+05:30I hope your blog post is reaches many Indians, hop...I hope your blog post is reaches many Indians, hopefully and especially Mr. Modi. He can transform and lift India if he eschews Hindu partisanship and becomes the protector and promoter of all Indian communities. If he doesn't, can someone like the already forgotten Kejriwal of the AAP learn from his past mistakes and in an Act 2 become a viable secular (you may hate the word as much as I like it, Avay) alternative?SandipMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04721935576457691892noreply@blogger.com
